Eghardt graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2007. He completed a post-graduate certificate in sports physiotherapy. He completed courses with a focus on concussion assessment and rehabilitation. Furthermore, he has undergone training in temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and vestibular disorders, orthopaedic manual therapy, and joint manipulations.
Eghardt has worked with numerous professional sports teams including Field Hockey South Africa and Korfball South Africa, as well as club and school rugby and cricket teams, individual professional track athletes and tennis players.
He has lectured at a post-graduate level and presented taping courses, and is certified in dry needling and Orthopaedic Manual Therapy.
Eghardt moved to Canada with his wife and daughter in 2019.
