Kinesiology

Kinesiology focuses on improving how your body moves, functions, and performs through guided exercise, education, and active rehabilitation. Our kinesiologists work with you to build strength, restore movement, and support recovery from injury using structured, progressive programs tailored to your needs and goals.

Treatment may include movement assessment, corrective exercise, mobility and strengthening programs, and ongoing guidance to help you return to work, sport, or daily activities safely and confidently.

At Williams Lake Physiotherapy, our kinesiologists play a key role within our care team—supporting early intervention, bridging the gap between injury and full recovery, and helping you maintain progress over time. Working alongside our physiotherapists and massage therapists, they provide consistent, hands-on support to keep you moving and reduce the risk of re-injury.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is an evidence-based, movement-focused approach to assessing, diagnosing, and treating injuries and physical conditions that affect how you move, work, and function day to day. Our physiotherapists use a combination of hands-on treatment, exercise prescription, and education to reduce pain, restore mobility, and improve strength and resilience.

Treatment may include manual therapy, joint mobilization, soft tissue techniques, IMS/dry needling, and progressive rehabilitation programs tailored to your specific goals—whether that’s returning to work, sport, or everyday activities.

At Williams Lake Physiotherapy, our physiotherapists work closely with our kinesiology and massage therapy team to provide coordinated, goal-driven care. We focus not only on recovery, but on building long-term capacity so you can move better, stay active, and reduce the risk of future injury.

Registered Massage Therapy (RMT)

Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) is a therapeutic treatment provided by a licensed massage therapist trained to help reduce pain, relieve muscle tension, and improve mobility. Treatments may include techniques such as trigger point therapy, myofascial release, joint mobilization, neuromuscular therapy, and relaxation massage. Sessions are tailored to address concerns such as joint pain, nerve impingement, chronic tension, postural issues, and injury recovery.

Our Registered Massage Therapist works alongside our physiotherapy and kinesiology team, providing integrated care to help patients move better and stay active.

Physiotherapy Assistant

A Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) provides guided, hands-on support as part of your rehabilitation program under the direction of a physiotherapist. PTAs help you carry out your prescribed treatment plan, ensuring exercises are performed correctly, safely, and consistently to support your recovery.

Sessions may include supervised exercise programs, mobility and strengthening work, functional training, and reinforcement of techniques introduced by your physiotherapist. This allows for continued progress between physiotherapy visits while maintaining a high standard of care.

At Williams Lake Physiotherapy, our PTAs work closely with our physiotherapists and kinesiology team to deliver coordinated, efficient care. This team-based approach helps you stay on track, build momentum in your recovery, and achieve your goals with the right level of support at each stage.
