Do I need approval from ICBC for treatment after a motor vehicle accident (MVA)?

Yes, clients seeking physiotherapy after an MVA need a valid ICBC claim number and pre-approval from an ICBC adjuster to receive treatment. Without approval, treatment will be subject to our private rates.
For your first appointment, please arrive at least 10 minutes early to complete any missing information at the reception or fill out the Patient Consent Form (if not already done online).

If you have any relevant documents such as MRI, X-rays, or surgery reports, please bring them with you. Additionally, if you haven't already provided it, please bring your Personal Health Number (PHN).

This will help us ensure a smooth and efficient start to your treatment.
How should I prepare?

For your pre-employment test, please be prepared with the following:
  • Ready for the drug test: You will need to provide a urine sample for the drug test, so please ensure you are ready to do so.
  • Comfortable clothing: Wear attire that allows for full range of motion (ROM), as physical and functional tests will be performed.
  • Valid ID: Please bring a valid government-issued ID with you to the appointment for identification purposes.
  • Arrive early: Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment to complete any administrative paperwork.
We want to ensure the process goes smoothly, so come prepared to complete all required assessments efficiently.
What Are My Options?

We do not offer direct billing. Payment is due at the time of treatment, and you will receive a receipt via email or printed, which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

What is The Difference?

At Williams Lake Physiotherapy, we specialize in Dynamic Taping. While both Dynamic Tape and Kinesiology Tape offer support and aid in injury recovery, they differ in their function and effectiveness.

Kinesiology Tape primarily provides proprioceptive feedback and light support, helping to improve muscle function and reduce discomfort. However, Dynamic Tape stands out for its superior elasticity and strong recoil, offering enhanced biomechanical support and significant load reduction.

Unlike Kinesiology Tape, which mainly offers minor support, Dynamic Tape is designed to absorb and release energy, assisting with movement control and significantly reducing strain on injured tissues. This makes Dynamic Tape a more robust and effective treatment for complex movement patterns and musculoskeletal injuries, providing stronger support during rehabilitation and athletic recovery.
